The Six Knowings of
ASAIRA

A Metaphysical Fantasy for Adults and Young Adults

This is a story of transformation and self-realization, a spiritual quest that takes a young woman called Aileen into six magical realms, each with a profound revelation or 'Knowing'. Things take an unexpected turn when the Storyteller spirals into an existential crisis while Aileen is lost in one of the Realms.

Finally, the Reader must enter the story to save both Aileen and the Storyteller and ultimately, fulfil an Ancient Promise made at the beginning of humanity:

that ‘The 3’ ~ Aileen, the Storyteller and the Reader ~

are destined to meet and remember who they really are, a realization that will change our world forever.

The Six Knowings of ASAIRA

Reviews & Testimonials

"I love the breaking up of the story into six parts. Each part has some overall themes, and overlapping storyline to help join them, but it was like I was reading six distinct parts of the history of this world... The language throughout is so evocative, and beautiful. I really loved expanding my own horizons with this manuscript. It is very self-reflective, and there are many spots where the reader can connect the character journeys with their own life journeys."

Tracy T. (Beta Reader: Testimonial)

"It's a very creative, unexpected and surprising reading. The story invites you to participate in the challenges and mysteries you read and that you can easily connect with your own challenges in life. The texts, poems and illustrations touch and open your heart with a Magical Scent. I really enjoyed it."

Hector (Amazon Review)

"An incredibly imaginative and creative book, the story unfolds like a piece of paper that’s been folded an infinite number of times... it keeps opening into new scenarios and stories, surprising you as it curves round to meet itself."

Tomas S. (Beta Reader: Testimonial)

"Although I am only at the beginning of this story, I am finding it fascinating. The detailed descriptions make the imagination run wild by visualizing the different characters and landscapes. From Aileen, Child of the Earth, through the non-' earthly 'Children of the Sun, to the friendly Storyteller. The different fonts and colors used are pleasantly surprising depending on who is narrating the story, or who is being talked about. Magnificent and vivid drawings that accompany, illuminate and add explanation to this curious and beautiful adventure."

Silvi G. (Amazon Review)

"I loved it! It feels light and awake and hopeful and intriguing. I enjoyed the excitement you conveyed as the author, your passion comes through clearly."

Getting The Six Knowings of ASAIRA ready to publish

It's been more than ten years since I started writing ASAIRA. At the beginning, I thought it was just a short story, but gradually I realised there were going to be six stories in one. I ended up using six notebooks and over six hundred pages to finish the story! The next step was to get it all onto the computer and figure out how to do the drawings and the fun layout that had been created in the notebooks.

The writing, illustrating and editing of ASAIRA has been an incredible journey of self-discovery where, as the characters and the Reader in the book, I'm finding out who I really am. For me it has been a profound and magical process.

In September 2021, I decided to find a way to indie publish, but I had no idea how to get my final version into the required format.

That's when, at The Creative Academy for Writers, I met writer and book designer, Carmen Wright, and a new adventure began!

ASAIRA's Book Design: A Labour of Love

Hours of work, but oh, so worth it!

Carmen Wright and I have just finished working on ASAIRA! It took just over a year, but yes, so worth all the work!

Here's a little bit about the process that Carmen and I went through:

I re-did some of the illustrations and put in more colour, as well as drawing new elements like symbols to give the book that magical feel that I love so much.

Carmen took my original version and converted it into a book!! How did she do this? Well, by incorporating all the texts and illustrations into the format and layout that I had envisioned and thought was not even possible! It was an incredibly challenging job that needed many hours of work. We had to do a lot of reviewing and checking!

The finished book design is spectacular!

I am so grateful to Carmen.

Below are some pages from the book. They aren't all final versions but they give you an idea.

The book design for The Six Knowings of ASAIRA has been an expensive enterprise.

If you'd like to help out, any amount is welcome and appreciated!

About Carmy

Storyteller at Heart

I've always found myself either reading, writing or telling a story, and more recently, poetry penetrated into my life with intensity.

Then came a short story that seemed to want to go on and on... and turned into a book called

The Six Knowings of ASAIRA

This book is where all my loves - the poems, the magic, the storytelling, the profound mysteries of life, the search for the Divine - intertwine alchemically and magically.

Now the time has come to share that book, and I am so excited and grateful!

I live in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada, with my husband, Antonio, and our dog, Milo.

Creativity & Silence
with Carmy

Creativity & Silence is a meeting in stillness where a group of people are able to share from the Heart ⁓ words, sensations, music, songs, poems, drawings, dance, etc. ⁓ that either arise spontaneously, or that have been brought from home.

All is welcomed into the silence without judgement.

Every meeting is a unique, magical and joyous creation that comes into being organically in the Now.

What is

Metaphysical Fantasy?

When I had finished writing
The Six Knowings of ASAIRA,
I had no clue as to what genre it was.
It was definitely a fantasy with its magical elements and fictional realms...

Why do I write

Poetry and Metaphysical Fantasy?

This is a question that only the Heart can answer. For it is the Heart that decided to express itself the only way it could and it started with poetry.... though, I would never have dared to call it poetry. It was just what the Heart was feeling, seeing, realising...

Why did I write

The Six Knowings of ASAIRA?

Poems & Musings of the Heart

Blog

For quite a few years now, I have had a poetry blog.
Poetry is one of my passions. I love to sit down and let the words come as they want to come.
The result is unpolished but authentic and from the Heart.
Lately, I've also been feeling to share some "musings", short reflections about this mysterious Path of the Heart.
You can find both the poems and the musings in my blog, The Word Made Alquimia.

Notebook and Pen

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open...”
